Three men have been jailed for a combined 33 years after raping a 17-year-old girl in Bristol before fleeing the UK in the back of a lorry.

Mehrab Safi, 21, Salman Habibkheil, 19, and Awal Ahmadzai, 19, were convicted of rape, along with a 17-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons. The four men persuaded the girl to travel to Bristol alone, then gave her alcohol before all four raped her at a house in the city, according to The Guardian.

After the assault, the three men escaped from Britain to France by hiding in the back of a lorry. The court imposed sentences totalling 33 years across the group.
