Amber weather warnings came into force across parts of the UK as Storm Boelo brought severe wind and rain on Saturday. The Met Office predicted wind gusts of 60-70mph in the warning zone, with speeds reaching 80mph in exposed coastal areas. Scotland, parts of Northern Ireland, and the far north of England faced the worst conditions, with peak winds expected from Saturday evening.

The storm arrived after Storm Austen brought strong winds to many regions on Friday, delivering a fresh deluge of wet weather across the country. Travel disruptions and event cancellations followed the amber warnings issued for the affected areas.
